KemLu – Investing in Peace

Indonesia was selected to be a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in the 2019 - 2020 period. On the 12 months journey, Indonesia has reached several milestones in working on their priority issues. This video was to tell the story of how Indonesia was building and strengthening peace at this moment. The milestones and achievements that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RI were numerous, and it was a challenge to tailor a flowing story that could tell all the achievements and keep the audience on the main theme, which is "investing in peace."

We explored the ideas to illustrate the concept of peace that could connect easily to our daily life. The idea of children's quarrels in their classroom came into our minds, as it was part of an everyday conflict that we have experienced. We then tailored the main narrative accordingly to this concept. This concept successfully bridged the lack of high-quality video footage on peacekeeping conflict and essential UN moments, which we illustrated through the children drawing and lego diorama. Sure, delivering this story was quite a challenge, but we conquered it through play and creativity!
